Corey Taylor - X-M@$

Corey Taylor from Slipknot and Stone Sour has always pushed his craft to new levels. Ever since Slipknot came out, Taylor has reinvented his sound over and over again. While he can scream his flesh out, it is his harmonies that catch your ears attention instantly. Taylor is also one of the only artists in Heavy Music that is in two multi-million-selling bands.

Corey Taylor does not sleep much, because he can never stop creating music. On one of those sleepless nights, he decided to do a solo project that will be released on December 14 via Roadrunner Records. Today we bring you the first single from this upcoming release. The song is called X-M@$ and it is basically Taylor's rendition of a Christmas carol.

So why on earth did Taylor decide to release a Christmas single?

“I wrote this song in my kitchen one winter, listening to people bitch about the holidays. Personally, I love the holidays, but they seem to bring on severe stress in most people. So, I wrote this in honor of crotchety, drunken bastards who don't know the difference between a yuletide and a tool shed. Plus, I think it's funny.”

The track was recorded last month at Metropolis Studios in London when Taylor had some time off from Stone Sour's tour in the UK. The lyrics definitely showcase his sense of humor and he delivers a stick-poking at those who bitch about the holiday season.

However, Taylor’s humor doesn’t stop with the song words, as he drops a sneaky ‘Hi Simon!!’ at the end of the song, as a middle finger to Simon Cowell and his Xmas-hijacking X-Factor squad in the UK. Click to listen to this comical song now!

You can pick up the digital single from all leading digital retailers on December 14. Taylor will be donating proceeds from the song’s sales to Teenage Cancer Trust. Now that's METAL! \m/
