Heavy Music Anthems that Soothe the Soul

Whenever you feel down, or if someone pisses you off, we recommend that you let your frustrations out in a constructive and positive way. A great stress reliever is to go to a live concert, enter the pit, and throw your Horns Up. But if you are sitting at home and don't feel like dealing with the outside world, here are a dozen LIVE songs that we'll soothe your soul and make you want to rise up and dominate! So crank up your sound system, clear your throat, and let it rip!

PANTERA: RISE
"It's time to spread the word! Let the voice be heard! All of us, one of us, all of us! Dominate and take the motherfucking world!"

METALLICA: MASTER OF PUPPETS
"Master of Puppets I'm pulling your strings! Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams! Blinded by me, you can't see a thing!"

SLAYER: SEASONS IN THE ABYSS

HATEBREED: PERSEVERANCE
"Perseverance! Against all opposition! Crushing all limitations! Pure strength through solitude! Discipline and determination!"

MADBALL: PRIDE
"Life`s hard, you struggle some times! In the end I`ll get what`s mine! But for now I`ll deal with the times! Have some faith and you`ll get by!"

AGNOSTIC FRONT: FOR MY FAMILY
"We always stuck together! We always had something to prove! We gave birth to a movement! This is for the old school and the new!"

AT THE GATES: SLAUGHTER OF THE SOUL
"Always the same! My tired eyes have seen enough! Of all your lies! My hate is blind!"

MESHUGGAH: NEW MILLENIUM CYANIDE CHRIST

MEGADETH: SWEATING BULLETS
"Well, me... It's nice talking to myself! A credit to dementia! Some day you too will know my pain! And smile its blacktooth grin!"

URANIUM Tour invades New York City this Weekend

For many years, the TV show Uranium on Fuse TV was a "household name" in the Heavy Music world. The work done my Mistress Juliya and crew, brought the viewers a chaotic and very well put together program, which represented the culture behind the music we all love! The interviews were raw and uncensored, and Juliya quickly became a great representative for the ladies in the scene. After being canceled by Fuse TV, Juliya decided to focus on different professional endeavors, and to reinvent herself.

After a few years of putting Uranium aside, she decided it was time to bring the masses the "URANIUM Tour 2011"! The event features Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society. Joining BLS are Hail The Villain, and Rev Theory.

"URANIUM Tour 2011", is presented by The House Of Blues, Right Arm Entertainment and of course, Mistress Juliya from Fuse TV. And who will be hosting the New York City Show? The one and only Mistress Juliya!

"You wanted it? You got it! It is an absolute honor, to announce the return of my beloved Metal brand URANIUM in the form of a badass your! In typical URANIUM fashion, we bring you Black Label Society, All That Remains, and Hail the Villain. Need I say more?" - Mistress Juliya

Guitar World Magazine Announces Larger Format, New Website & Mobile Version

Today Guitar World Magazine announced that they will be introducing a larger format magazine, along with a brand new website and a mobile version of the magazine. This is pretty cool when most magazines are either folding, downsizing, or going digital. Guitar World Magazine has always gone against the current and this ambitious mission, will surely put them on top of the magazine kingdom. Here is the Official press release:

"For over 30 years GUITAR WORLD MAGAZINE has consistently been a publishing innovator in the music and MI space. Today GUITAR WORLD announces several new initiatives designed to give its readers more value with the most immersive and progressive user experience ever, and all without increasing the price of the publication.

As many music industry publications shrink in both size and circulation, GUITAR WORLD introduces a new larger-sized magazine format with a collectible pullout poster in every issue, together with a high-definition video experience online that directly complements the magazine content. Premiering with the July 2011 issue – on sale today – the new print format will physically enhance the look and feel of the magazine, making it bigger, fresher, and meatier than ever. The new, full-screen, high definition video platform will deliver exclusive top-quality interviews, instruction, reviews and more, all for free on GuitarWorld.com.

Concurrently, GUITAR WORLD announces the launch of the new GuitarWorld.com. The redesigned site will feature fresh, original content for guitar players of all types, levels, and genres, including a stable of blogs written by pro players and industry insiders. Exclusive articles, video and more will be posted continually for players interested in blues, country, jazz, acoustic, rock, metal, and more. The new video player will host new lessons, tips, reviews, and exclusive feature content. In addition, columns focusing on amplifiers, effects, recording, bass and more will significantly increase the gear coverage online.

With the introduction of its Lick of the Day App in 2010, GUITAR WORLD has succeeded in creating an invaluable platform that delivers a fresh lesson each day to an audience of over 700,000 guitarists. Coming in early June, GUITAR WORLD will also introduce a smart phone App, ‘Guitar World Mobile’. ‘Guitar World Mobile’ will feature the best content from the magazine—interviews, lessons, gear reviews and more—plus video and up-to-the-minute news in a robust App designed for iPhone and Android smartphones and devices.

“Today musicians want to be able to experience and learn more about their craft in a wide variety of ways…online, in print, via mobile, at live events, and much more. GUITAR WORLD will be there. It is our mission to enhance the guitarist’s experience in whatever way they choose – with high quality, fresh, meaningful content, lessons, tab, and so much more,” said Brad Tolinski, editor of Guitar World."

No Remission "Through Blackened Skies" record release

At present time there are many great "unsigned" bands that are making a lot of noise within the tri-state area Heavy Music scene. It is hard to grasp on the fact that only a few years back, the scene was diluted and bands were not working together like they are doing right now. Prove of this is how No Remission, Alekhine's Gun, Left In Ruins, and Arcane Malevolence, with the help of their fans, came up with enough money to shoot and track the upcoming No Remission "Through Blackened Skies" record release show.

The gameplan is to produce a documentary that showcases the current state of the tri-state area Heavy Music scene. Horns Up Rocks will be sponsoring the event, and our founder Jo Schüftan will be there conducting all interviews for the DVD. Here are all the show details:

Brutal Bitches Productions presents the No Remission "Through Blackened Skies" record release show!

- Date & Time: Saturday, June 18, 2011 @ 7:00pm
- Location: The Studio at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street)
- Lineup: No Remission, Alekhine's Gun, Left In Ruins, and Arcane Malevolence

To commemorate the release of our album, we will be holding a record release party at the Studio at Webster Hall on June 18.

We are looking to make this a night to remember and will be sharing the stage with some of the areas best bands/good friends Left In Ruins, Arcane Malevolence and Alekhine's Gun.

We will also be filming the entire event for a future DVD so come and be a part of history."

Kittie Announce Summer Tour

The all chick quartet from Canada known as Kittie will be embarking on a Summer tour and their plan is to destroy and dominate. The festivities will be kicked off at the "Gathering Of Juggalos" on August 11 at the Hog Rock in Cave Rock, Illinois, and will conclude on September 21 at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Joining Kittie on the Rock N Roll highway will be Dirge Within and Diamond Plate. Here is the OFFICIAL press release:

"Veteran road warriors, KITTIE will be hitting the road this summer on a headlining run spanning the entire US including the notorious "Gathering Of Juggalos" festival. DIRGE WITHIN and DIAMOND PLATE will offer support.

The band has been in the studio since April recording their yet untitled new record. What promises to be a grittier record than their previous effort "In the Black,” front woman Morgan Lander offers her own words.

"We have been working exceptionally hard, crafting what is to be our 6th full length release, and our second for eOne. In some cases these new songs are faster, darker and much more sinister than our previous release. It contains some of the most difficult and personal subject matter I have had the pleasure (or displeasure) of writing."

Once again the band has enlisted the producing talent of Siegfried "Siggy" Meier at Beach Road Studios in Goderich Ontario, Canada. “The girls have written some incredible and personal songs this time around. They’re heavy as shit and relentless. It's a pleasure and an honor to be doing another record with one of the best metal bands of our time," says Meier. The new record will be released later this year."

Agnostic Front at the 2011 Black N Blue Bowl

Saturday, May 28, 2011, will go down on history as one of the best days in New York Hardcore! The energy at Webster Hall for the 2011 Black N Blue Bowl (formerly the Superbowl of Hardcore) was goddamn electric from start to finish, and every band delivered a flawless set. It is great to see veterans of Hardcore like Gorilla Biscuits, Sick Of It All, Agnostic Front and Terror, inspire the younger bands to step their game up and not disappoint.

Right after a typical adrenalized set by Sick Of It All, the crowd needed a breather, and we needed a cold beer. As soon as we arrived at the bar, we ran into Freddy Cricien (Madball and Black N Blue Productions), and bought him a beer in token of our appreciation for everything he has done for New York Hardcore culture. Next thing you know, Agnostic Front raged onto the stage and demolished Webster Hall. The power provided by Roger Miret, Vinnie Stigma and the rest of the boys, is addicting and not for the weak-hearted. For their new song "A Mi Manera", which is part of their brand new album titled "My Life, My Way", Freddy Madball sang in Spanish with his step-brother Roger.

If anybody needs prove of why Agnostic Front is the most legendary NYHC band in history, all it takes is to see them perform any of their Hardcore anthems to 2,000 CRAZY fans and see how those fans react.

"On behalf of Agnostic Front and myself I want to thank everyone that came out to our show at the BNB Bowl! We had a great time in NYC!!!! NYHC killed it!!!! Also, a fantastic time and show at Punk Rock Bowling in Vegas alongside with our mate's Cock Sparrer!!!! Those where 2 great warm up shows for us! Europe here we come! Tour starts on June 25th! Cheers!" - Roger Miret
AGNOSTIC FRONT tour-dates:

Prior to the 2011 Black N Blue Bowl we had the chance to chat with Vinnie Stigma (Agnostic Front), the ambassador of New York Hardcore, about what it meant to be co-headlining such a historic event!

We want to thank Agnostic Front, Jon Freeman (Freeman Promotions, and the Black N Blue Productions team.
